Borrower Needs: Notifications

Automated Communication Workflows for Borrower Needs

Timely communication is critical to maintaining an efficient loan origination process. This article details the automated notifications and alerts associated with the Borrower Needs feature. It outlines how LOS users and borrowers are instantly alerted to new requests, recent document uploads, status changes (approvals and rejections), and new messages, ensuring all parties stay informed and aligned.

Borrower Notifications

  • Automated Reminders: Borrowers will receive email notifications based on the reminder schedule (number of days) configured in administration once pending borrower needs exist on their file.
  • Due Date Alerts: If due date reminders are configured, email notifications will be sent to borrowers based on the specified number of days prior to the impending due date.
  • Manual Triggers: In addition to automated schedules, LOS users can manually trigger reminder emails or SMS (text) notifications directly from the Borrower Needs screen at any time.

Internal Team Notifications

Loan Officers, Processors, and Assistants receive a notification whenever a Borrower uploads new documents, sent within 15 minutes of the upload. Rather than sending a separate email for each document, the system consolidates all updates into a single email per user, listing every loan with updated borrower needs that require review.

Users will only receive these notifications if the "Loan Document Created By Consumer Notifications" preference is enabled in their notification settings.

Messaging Alerts

Unread Messages: For lender and borrower messages sent via the built-in Borrower Needs messaging feature, the system monitors view status. It will wait for 20 minutes after a message is added; if the receiving party has not viewed it within that timeframe, the system will automatically send a notification alerting them of the new message.
